The Black Belt Prep-Camp is an ongoing special classes scheduled on Saturdays conducted personally by Grandmaster Melegrito (schedule-permitted). The main focus of this camp is to get the students "technically" ready for the high demands of Black Belt testing. Students are given a practice training daily schedule guide to follow and are required to submit paperwork of completion for accountability purposes during the camp sessions.
This is a mandatory event for students with a rank of pre-conditional, 1st degree conditional, 1st degree black belt with 5 chevrons, and any students applying to test for their next Black Belt level of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th Degree!
Black Belt preparatory camp days are used to evaluate student's readiness for Black Belt testing. Students (brown belts through pre-conditionals) can receive additional curriculum stripes depending on their performances during the final review. These promotional stripes and/or belt advancement can result in the students testing earlier for Black Belt levels.
Students with a rank of brown, high brown & advanced high brown belts are not required to take the camp at this time. However, our experience shows that students who participated in the Black Belt Prep-Camp earlier on are more prepared for Black Belt Testing mentally, physically and emotionally. With that being a fact, we highly recommend attending this camp to everyone who's eligible to participate. The Black Belt Prep-Camp is great alternative to private lessons even if the students do not attend the entire camp sessions. It is the best alternative we can offer to help them to reach their goal of passing their Black Belt Testing.
Pre-conditionals (black with a brown stripe in the middle) and Conditionals (black with half white) must attend the Black Belt Prep Camp before testing for the Black Belt level as part of their mandatory black belt testing requirement. Remember that you must attend 2 Black Belt Prep Camps to be eligible to test for 1st Degree Black Belt. This is also a requirement for 1st Degree Black Belt students with 4 Chevrons and 2nd Degree with 8 Chevrons before they qualify to test for their next Black Belt Degree level. 1st Degree and 2nd Degree Black Belt students must attend two Black Belt Prep Camps to be eligible to test for their next Black Belt Degree Black level
